Completed for the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing (2009-11)
In December 2009, the Tasmanian Residential Aged Care Collective(TRACC) commissioned Verso to develop a sustainable and portable care and service model for aged care providers in rural and remote areas. The project involved a demographic study, consumer and stakeholder consultations, identification of relevant government policies, and development of an evidence-based service model (named the “sustainable model of regional and rural aged care”) and delivery options.
The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing (now Department of Health) funded this project. The findings have been used to inform service development and service sustainability in North West Tasmania and other regional, rural, remote and very remote locations across Australia.
The project research and findings were presented at the 2010 ACSA National Conference by Verso Managing Director Doug Faircloth. The presentation slides can be downloaded here
